當筆者正坐在書桌前敲打著鍵盤，許多中東的孩子仍飽受戰爭的摧殘、非洲許多國家的孩子仍在貧窮與饑餓中度過、北韓的人民則在一個高壓專制的政權中被洗腦，所有關於世界的樣貌都與我們不同：美國與南韓挑起戰爭，才使他們生活困頓的國家，只有依照領袖的指示，才能讓國家偉大，什麼是一杯熱咖啡？連飯都沒得吃的人，從來沒想到，在國界的另一頭，是一個完全不同的世界。
看著脫北者的故事，就像一個奇幻故事，但是是一個非常殘酷的奇幻世界，沒有好事，盡是一些骯髒齷齪的苦難，這些脫北者因著悲慘的過去，眼神中比一般人更堅韌，對於不義得來的幸福也格外珍惜。這個世界從來都沒有真正好過，許多難過的事情不斷的在上演，面對自己的價值，我想不是賺很多錢，不是做多偉大的事業，而在於怎麼去讓更多人從苦難中脫離。讓他人得到身為一個人應得的權利，是我我所認為身為人的真諦。
